Maryam Ghanbarian is an architect working at the intersection of architecture and building performance. She is interested in how climate, environmental data, and simulation can become part of the design process, rather than something considered after the design is complete.
Her work spans energy and environmental modelling, thermal comfort, daylight, and life-cycle assessment. Her master's thesis in Architecture and Energy explored a design approach for schools of the future, focused on reducing life-cycle environmental impacts.
